Why buy this wipes warmer?

Is it just me, or do babies always wait until you’re driving somewhere to go potty?

I’ve had to change so many diapers in the back seat of our car, and inevitably some of those days were a little chilly or windy or rainy. To make matters worse, my babies were accustomed to warm, comfortable wipes at home, so back seat diaper changes got even more unpleasant when they felt those icy cold wipes.

Another problem: runny noses. My son has allergies, so he gets runny noses all year long. Have you ever tried to wipe a baby’s runny nose with a cold wipe? The mucus doesn’t budge, and the baby gets angry.

The Dex Travel Wipes Warmer solves both of these problems by keeping your wipes warm wherever you go.

How does it work?

The wipes warmer comes with both a home and car adapter, so you can plug it into a wall outlet or charge it in your car. This works out great when you’re visiting relatives, because you can move the wipes warmer directly from the car charger to any outlet in the house.

The case is insulated, though, so you really don’t need to rush around finding new power sources. Just relax, hug your relatives, pour a glass of wine … the wipes will still be toasty when you need them. The Dex travel warmer is slim and compact, so it fits really well in a diaper bag or a big purse.

What are the downsides?

Even though this travel warmer is rather light, it’s still yet another bit of weight in your diaper bag and another object taking up space. So if you’re doing any hard-core traveling (especially by plane), I would recommend leaving this in the checked bag and carrying on as little as humanly possible.

It’s also a little difficult to maneuver when you’re actually using it. It doesn’t weigh much, so sometimes it would just slide right off the seat. Or I’d be struggling to hold the baby with one hand, while holding the lid open and trying to grab a wipe with the other hand.

Overall, though, I’m happier with a travel wipes warmer than I was without one.
